Join our clients growing team! They are an established engineering and environmental consulting firm looking for a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in structural design for buildings and bridges. Leading exciting projects, mentoring intermediate and junior engineers, and helping to grow the business.

Qualifications:

• Civil Engineering Degree with a minimum of 10 years of Canadian work experience.
• Previous design and structural analysis experience regarding buildings and/or bridges.
• Design experience with structural engineering materials such as concrete, steel, and timber.
• Experience in working for municipalities, First Nations, and/or private sector clients.
• Eligible or active membership with the Association of Professional Engineer (PEO).
• Excellent knowledge of Canadian and Ontario design codes and guidelines.
• Strong English, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time-management skills and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
• Client and government approval process experience and/or exposure is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

• Designing structural components for civil infrastructure, buildings, facilities, and bridges.
• Preparing conceptual and detailed designs, calculations, layouts, and specifications.
• Completing and prioritizing multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
• Providing input on proposals, feasibility studies, designs, and other assignments.
• Leading the development and implementation of engineering procedures and standards.
• Guiding and mentoring junior engineering staff/students.
