Position Overview: The Asphalt Paving Foreman will oversee and manage all aspects of asphalt paving operations on-site. The successful candidate will lead the paving crew, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This position plays a key role in delivering projects on time and within budget, while maintaining effective communication with the project management team.
Key Responsibilities: - Supervise and coordinate daily paving activities, including planning, scheduling, and assigning tasks to crew members.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and safety regulations.
- Oversee asphalt paving operations, including laying, rolling, and finishing of asphalt, to ensure quality control and smooth surfaces.
- Monitor and manage equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring that all machinery is in good working condition.
- Communicate with project managers and engineers to ensure alignment with project goals, timelines, and resource needs.
- Inspect completed work and make necessary adjustments to meet project quality standards.
- Manage time, materials, and resources to maximize productivity while minimizing waste and costs.
- Train and mentor crew members, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and work efficiently.
- Maintain accurate daily reports of activities, materials used, and labor hours.
Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes, techniques, and equipment.
- Knowledge of construction specifications and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience with road construction or heavy civil projects is an asset.
