Position Overview:
 
The Asphalt Paving Foreman will oversee and manage all aspects of asphalt paving operations on-site. The successful candidate will lead the paving crew, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This position plays a key role in delivering projects on time and within budget, while maintaining effective communication with the project management team.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily paving activities, including planning, scheduling, and assigning tasks to crew members.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and safety regulations.
  • Oversee asphalt paving operations, including laying, rolling, and finishing of asphalt, to ensure quality control and smooth surfaces.
  • Monitor and manage equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring that all machinery is in good working condition.
  • Communicate with project managers and engineers to ensure alignment with project goals, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Inspect completed work and make necessary adjustments to meet project quality standards.
  • Manage time, materials, and resources to maximize productivity while minimizing waste and costs.
  • Train and mentor crew members, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and work efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports of activities, materials used, and labor hours.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes, techniques, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of construction specifications and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Experience with road construction or heavy civil projects is an asset.
