Assistant / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering & Power contractor

SSA are currently recruiting for an Assistant/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join an expanding subcontractor within Civils and Power, to lead a number of newly awarded projects for clients such as National Grid, SSEN, UKPN and other DNOs, mainly consisting of substations, high voltage cabling, transformers, connections, and other schemes. These schemes are valued at up to £5m, and are administered under NEC3 & NEC4 contract forms. 
Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Assisting with the the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and cost estimates
• Liaising with the main contractor and subcontractors in order to quote & negotiate prices
• Assess project and financial performance within ongoing projects and provide updates to the Senior/Managing QS
• Prepare and submit payment applications and final accounts
• Keep accurate records and documents for all costs, contracts and payments 
• Assist the commercial team in the settlement of disputes and variations throughout the project

Experience: 

• Quantity Surveying experience within Civils or Utilities sectors
• NEC contract experience
