Assistant Project Manager

About Our Client: Our client is a well-known construction company specializing in ICI projects, including new builds, renovations, and additions. Their commitment to quality, efficiency, and innovation drives their success in delivering on their projects.
They're seeking a proactive and organized Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about construction management and eager to contribute to a wide variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and additions.
  • Help create and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Review project drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with requirements.
  • Manage and track project changes, including change orders and budget adjustments.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting project status reports to stakeholders.
  • Support the procurement process, including obtaining quotes, reviewing bids, and negotiating contracts.
  • Address and resolve day-to-day project issues and escalate significant concerns to the Project Manager as needed.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and ensure their expectations are met or exceeded.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • 2+ years of experience in construction, with exposure to residential and commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project) and basic project scheduling tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is a plus.
