Our client is an experienced and award-winning residential developer/ builder that has been known for its creativity in planning, design and building premier residential and mixed-use communities across Canada and the United States for over 40 years. The client has successfully built over 14,000 residencies from custom homes to single family dwellings, multiple family, condominium and affordable rental homes, as well as mixed-use developments and commercial properties.
 
Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate construction activities, inspect construction work in progress, and review materials for compliance with specifications, plans, and standards.

• Direct and supervise construction crews in concert with Site Superintendent. Ensure that Safety regulations and
Safe practices are followed at all times.

• Plan, organize, and coordinate project schedules that ensure the continuity of job progress and maximize efficiency.

• Ensure project quality, cost, and schedule meet or beat estimates.

• Manage subcontractor schedules, quality-of-work, and coordination with other trades.

• Complete project records, including daily project progress reports and crew timesheets.

• Maintain Project records relating to Change Orders, submittals, subcontracts, RFls, and correspondence.

• Conduct and document weekly safety meetings.

• Review data/plans/specifications to determine material, labor, and subcontractor requirements and prepare itemized lists.

• Assist in resolving any problems relating to the owner, architect, subcontractors or material suppliers.

• Perform other duties as directed by Site Superintendent and/or Project Manager.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
 
• Ability to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and produce an exceptional project.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and safe practices for the construction industry.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, standard cost codes, and building codes
• Ability to read drawings/building plans and understand specifications
• Ability to plan ahead and extinguish potential issues before they become issues.
• Good conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, building inspectors and other project personnel.
• Ability to read and understand technical data, interpret construction drawings, architectural drawings and specifications.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Strong customer service orientation
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of Procore is an asset
