We are looking to speak with a surveyor who is interested in joining a small family-owned cadastral surveying firm in north Brisbane. Our client specialises in boundary identification surveys, building height certification, building set-outs and proposal plans, to name a few. Our client is a family-owned firm that has been operating in Brisbane for 20 years and is operated by a fully insured and registered consulting cadastral surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland. What type of work will you be undertaking?
- Boundary Surveys
Perform precise measurements to define property boundaries for land subdivisions and boundary identification This includes researching historical records, legal documents, and previous surveys. - Topographic Surveys
Conduct surveys to map natural and man-made features, contours, and elevations, providing essential data for construction, design, and land development projects. - Setting Out
Mark boundaries, construction lines, and reference points on-site to ensure structures are built to the approved design specifications and legal boundaries. - Research and Analysis
Investigate property deeds, titles, survey records, and other documentation to confirm legal boundaries and resolve potential discrepancies between neighbouring properties. - Data Collection and Processing
Use survey instruments such as total stations (Leica) to collect accurate field data. After fieldwork, process this data to generate detailed maps, boundary descriptions, and legal documentation. - Report Preparation
Create boundary descriptions, maps, and reports, which are used for legal documentation and land transfers - Coordination with Stakeholders
Work closely with property owners, developers, civil engineers, government officials, and lawyers to communicate findings, manage expectations, and address any boundary or land ownership issues. - Compliance and Documentation
Ensure that all survey activities and deliverables comply with local laws, regulations, and industry standards. This includes preparing necessary documentation for local land registries and planning authorities. - Using Technology and Software
Utilise specialised survey software, Civil 3D, GIS tools, and other technology to enhance accuracy and streamline survey processes. - Site Visits and Inspections
Regularly visit sites to inspect survey markers, resolve disputes, and verify the accuracy of previous survey work.
