We have an opportunity for a
Civil Estimator to join our client's team of project management professionals in a professional office environment in Calgary, AB.
- Our client has been in operation for over 30 years and is a leader in the industry
Responsibilities - Review tender documents and complete ‘Go, No Go’, and risk assessments.
- Issue RFI’s to engineers for any bid documents discrepancies & unclear information.
- Prepare the scope of work and send RFQs to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Setup estimates in estimating software.
- Complete accurate civil (and mechanical/structural) takeoffs and cost estimates for materials, labor and equipment.
- Incorporate ground conditions and construction sequences into estimates.
- Review design drawings, identifying errors and solutions to mitigate risk.
- Prepare and submit shop drawings.
- Evaluate quotations and write subcontract agreements.
- Procure equipment and materials on time and under budget.
- Manage and coordinate work with other technical and field staff.
Skills & Education - Degree or diploma in civil engineering is an asset.
- Experience in civil estimating for a civil contractor in Western Canada (preference will be given to candidates with water/wastewater treatment plant and pumping station project-related estimating experience).
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
