Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Civil Estimator to join our client's team of project management professionals in a professional office environment in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents and complete ‘Go, No Go’, and risk assessments.
• Issue RFI’s to engineers for any bid documents discrepancies & unclear information.
• Prepare the scope of work and send RFQs to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Setup estimates in estimating software.
• Complete accurate civil (and mechanical/structural) takeoffs and cost estimates for materials, labor and equipment.
• Incorporate ground conditions and construction sequences into estimates.
• Review design drawings, identifying errors and solutions to mitigate risk.
• Prepare and submit shop drawings.
• Evaluate quotations and write subcontract agreements.
• Procure equipment and materials on time and under budget.
• Manage and coordinate work with other technical and field staff.

 
Skills & Education

• Degree or diploma in civil engineering is an asset.
• Experience in civil estimating for a civil contractor in Western Canada (preference will be given to candidates with water/wastewater treatment plant and pumping station project-related estimating experience).
