Capital Infrastructure Estimator

As an Infrastructure Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase of our client's projects. Working closely with the project management and business development teams, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing competitive bids, and contributing to the overall success of sewer and water, roads, culverts and other infrastructure endeavours.

-Cost Estimation: Utilize industry-standard software and methodologies to accurately estimate project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses, specifically tailored to sewer and water infrastructure projects.

-Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed bid proposals in response to client requests, ensuring compliance with project specifications and deadlines in the sewer and water infrastructure sector.

-Vendor/Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials and services specific to sewer and water infrastructure projects.

-Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential challenges and opportunities in sewer and water infrastructure projects, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project feasibility.

-Value Engineering: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to identify value engineering opportunities specific to sewer and water infrastructure, optimizing project efficiency without compromising quality or safety standards.

-Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, material costs, and regulatory changes affecting the sewer and water infrastructure industry, leveraging insights to inform pricing strategies and competitive positioning.

-Client Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with clients and industry partners in the sewer and water infrastructure sector, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

-Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and budgetary requirements for sewer and water infrastructure projects.

-Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the estimating function for sewer and water infrastructure projects.

-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

-Proven experience as an estimator in the sewer and water infrastructure or civil engineering industry, with a strong understanding of construction principles, methods, and materials specific to this sector.

-Proficiency with construction estimation software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Planswift) and Microsoft Office Suite.

-Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in sewer and water infrastructure projects.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders in the sewer and water infrastructure sector.

-Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices specific to sewer and water infrastructure projects.

-Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
