Civil Structural Engineer

We are looking for a motivated Junior Structural Engineer to join our client’s growing team in downtown Toronto. In this role, you will contribute to the structural design and analysis of civil infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on temporary works. This opportunity offers the chance to be part of the exciting Ontario Line project.

You will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, gaining valuable experience and mentorship. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 3–4 years of experience who is eager to develop their skills in structural engineering.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct structural analysis and provide recommendations for retaining walls, box culverts, short bridges, and other structural components of road infrastructure projects.
  • Perform structural design for concrete and steel structures, ensuring compliance with CSA standards, including foundation design.
  • Analyze and design temporary structures such as fencing, temporary foundations, and impact assessments for existing structures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural considerations into overall project designs.
  • Site visits.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 3–4 years of experience in structural design and analysis, preferably in roadway infrastructure projects.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with structural analysis commercial software.
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical concepts and modeling tools is an asset.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar drafting tools is preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of CSA standards and other relevant structural design codes (prior experience applying them is an asset but not required).
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Licensure: working toward P.Eng. certification in Ontario is preferred.
  • Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.
