Civils Project Manager| Civil Engineering| North West

The company:

You will be joining a Civil Engineering and highways contractor that serves local and transport authorities throughout the North West of England. They have over 70 years experience working on North West Highways projects, and have a reputation for delivering hugely successful schemes. A lot of their work is generated from extended framework contracts with local North West authorities, however they also serve house builders and tier 1 contractors carrying out S278 and S38 works on their behalf.

The role: 
You will be joining a highly skilled and professional team, and will be responsible for one of this companies civil infrastructure projects in the North West, these schemes vary from £2-10m, and assignment will be dependent on timescales. You will be responsible for ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the overall planning, coordination, and control of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on
    time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that all aspects of the project are understood and
    completed to the required standards.
  • Manage the project team, including subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that they are working to the required
    standards and meeting project milestones.
  • Prepare project budgets and schedules and ensure that they are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure that any issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all health and safety requirements are met on site.
  • Manage project risks and opportunities and ensure that the project is delivered in line with business objectives.
  • Ensure that all project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, are accurate and up to date.
  • Producing project reports for issue to Client on a Monthly basis, report on project progress and performance.
  • Supporting all quality control requirements by coordination of benchmarks and liaison with all workforce and
    stakeholders.
  • Preparing internal RAMS and reviewing subcontractor ones.
  • Supporting the QS with project information and manage the project functions.

Requirements: 

  • Significant experience in project management within the civil engineering sector.
  • Proven experience in managing construction projects from inception to completion.
  • A sound understanding of construction contracts, including NEC3/4.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
    with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work confidently with Microsoft Projects, preparing programme, progress, milestone, monitor critical path,
    extract two weekly programmes.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • SMSTS, NRSWA
