Position Overview: The Earthworks Estimator will play a crucial role in our pre-construction phase, responsible for accurately estimating project costs and timelines for earthworks projects. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong background in earthworks estimating and a comprehensive understanding of dirt works processes.
Key Responsibilities: - Project Assessment: Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the scope of work.
- Cost Estimation: Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for earthworks projects, considering materials, equipment, labor, and other associated expenses.
- Risk Analysis: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each project, offering proactive solutions to mitigate potential issues.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and well-organized bid proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information and insights for accurate estimating.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to clarify project requirements, negotiate terms, and address inquiries during the bidding process.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to provide strategic insights for pricing and business development.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in an earthworks estimating role.
- Strong understanding of dirt works processes, materials, and equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting project specifications, drawings, and blueprints.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools for estimating.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
