Position: Electrical BIM Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

As the Electrical BIM Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the development of BIM models from the early design stages through to project completion. Your key duties will include:
  • Leading the creation, coordination, and maintenance of electrical BIM models throughout all phases of design and construction.
  • Managing BIM project delivery by working closely with design and production teams.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining BIM standards, templates, and quality control protocols.
  • Conducting regular model audits and quality reviews to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to troubleshoot design integration issues.
  • Providing training, guidance, and technical support to staff on Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and quality through BIM automation and innovation.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest BIM technology trends and best practices.
  • Supporting the creation of detailed construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD platforms.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM coordination, electrical systems design, or BIM management in consulting or construction settings.
  • Advanced knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD, with experience in Revit customization and API considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems design and how they’re represented in building models.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) is an advantage.
  • Proven experience managing production teams and coordinating with other disciplines in a BIM environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.

  • Skilled in using Clash Detection tools such as Navisworks, BIM 360, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Familiarity with construction phases and BIM-supported workflows.
  • Experience managing BIM on complex, large-scale, or multi-building projects.
  • Understanding of ISO 19650 standards or similar BIM Execution Plan (BEP) frameworks.
