Position Title: Electrical Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
As an Electrical Engineer, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Developing system concept reports, performing load calculations, creating schematics, and selecting appropriate equipment.
- Designing electrical systems for buildings, such as lighting, power distribution, life safety, backup power, fire alarms, security systems, and communication networks, with minimal oversight.
- Preparing construction documents for a variety of project types—including healthcare, hospitality, commercial, and institutional—in coordination with production teams and junior designers.
- Leading and managing all phases of electrical projects from concept to completion.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure drawing accuracy and coordination.
- Overseeing quality assurance processes and ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables.
- Reviewing architectural, interior, and structural plans to ensure design integration.
- Responding to contractor inquiries and providing technical support during construction.
- Supporting both the technical and administrative aspects of projects throughout all phases.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships to support ongoing business development.
Qualifications & Experience: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and design coordination within the consulting industry.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
- Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and relevant national building codes.
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD for producing construction documentation.
- Familiarity with the bidding and tendering process.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience managing projects and leading small teams.
- Comfortable working in and visualizing virtual 3D design environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
