Estimator
Overview: An experienced Cost Estimator is needed to manage and accurately budget multiple large-scale construction projects throughout the pre-construction lifecycle. This role requires extensive construction experience, attention to detail, and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quantity Takeoffs: Prepare estimates for divisions 1-16 from initial design.
- Budgeting: Develop comprehensive budgets (Class D to A) with precise cost analysis.
- Estimate Control: Adjust estimates through design stages, managing cost variances.
- Materials Research: Conduct pricing research; maintain a historical cost database.
- Scope of Work: Define bid package scopes and coordinate with subtrades.
- Tender Management: Oversee tender processes, including bid leveling, RFI handling, and budget updates.
- Value Engineering: Identify and document cost-saving options early in development.
- Supplier Relations: Maintain supplier/trade directories and build positive relationships.
- Consultant Coordination: Lead meetings to clearly present estimates
Qualifications: - Experience: 5+ years in construction estimating, ideally in a senior role on large concrete multifamily projects over $100M.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel, MS Project, and Quantity Takeoff software.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of building types, construction systems, and subcontractor scopes.
- Education: Diploma or degree in a related field; PQS, CET, or P.Eng designation preferred.
Salary Band: $120,000 to $150,000
