Position Overview: Estimator
We are looking for a skilled Estimator to join our team, bringing a strong technical background and experience in construction estimating. This role involves preparing detailed and accurate estimates for a range of projects, from multi-family to light industrial, with values up to $50 million. The Estimator will support project success by managing costs, assessing risks, and working closely with pre-construction and construction teams.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum Requirements: Post-secondary technical diploma and a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) designation or Gold Seal Certification in Estimating.
  • Construction Experience: Experience in multi-family, commercial, and light industrial projects, particularly those valued at up to $50 million.
Technical Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Outlook) and proficiency in take-off and estimating software; adaptable to new technology.
  • Estimating Abilities: Skilled in preparing detailed estimates for various contract types, including cost-plus, construction management, and fixed price (hard bid).
  • Quantity Take-Off: Proficient in quantity take-offs, with a strong focus on accuracy and cost savings.
  • Scope Management: Develops detailed scopes of work for subcontractors and suppliers, and manages pre-construction and construction-related tasks.
  • Database Management: Maintains a comprehensive estimating database using historical data and industry information for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Technological Aptitude: High aptitude for estimating technology, continuously seeking improvements in estimating efficiency.
  • Project Management: Able to manage small construction projects as needed.

  • Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professionalism: Professional attitude and appearance when representing the company.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
This position offers an opportunity to leverage your estimating skills in a collaborative environment, contributing to the success of complex construction projects. Salary range: $110,000 – $150,000 per year
