Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop building fire sprinkler systems, including suppression and alarm systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA, local building codes, and industry standards.
- Perform hydraulic calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and contractors to integrate fire protection designs into overall building plans.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Assist in site inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting of fire protection systems.
- Stay up to date with regulatory changes and emerging fire protection technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-10 years of engineering experience, with a strong preference for fire protection design.
- Hands-on experience designing and working with building fire sprinkler systems.
- Familiarity with NFPA codes, local building codes, and fire protection system standards.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and hydraulic calculation tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- P.Eng. designation (or on way to receiving P.Eng)
