With a strong focus on quality and technical excellence, they are seeking a Fire Protection Engineer/Designer to join their growing team.
 
About the Role:
 
As a Fire Protection Engineer/Designer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing fire protection systems, with a primary focus on building fire sprinkler systems. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure code compliance and system efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a mechanical engineering background who is looking to advance their expertise in fire protection.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop building fire sprinkler systems, including suppression and alarm systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA, local building codes, and industry standards.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and contractors to integrate fire protection designs into overall building plans.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Assist in site inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting of fire protection systems.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and emerging fire protection technologies.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of engineering experience, with a strong preference for fire protection design.
  • Hands-on experience designing and working with building fire sprinkler systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes, local building codes, and fire protection system standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and hydraulic calculation tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • P.Eng. designation (or on way to receiving P.Eng)
