Job Summary: As a Foreman with our client, you will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating Commercial & Institutional construction projects. This position demands strong leadership, technical skills, and a keen eye for detail. The Foreman is responsible for supervising and guiding on-site construction teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities: - Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, motivate, and supervise on-site construction crews, subcontractors, and laborers.
- Foster a collaborative and safe working environment, ensuring the team adheres to company policies and safety protocols.
- Delegate tasks, set clear expectations, and provide guidance to ensure high productivity and quality work.
- Project Execution:
- Oversee and coordinate daily activities to meet project schedules and objectives.
- Interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure work is executed in accordance with project requirements.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain work standards.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Promote a culture of safety by adhering to and enforcing all safety regulations and protocols.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, identify potential hazards, and ensure safety compliance on the site.
- Ensure that all workers have appropriate safety training and equipment.
- Resource Management:
- Manage the efficient use of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor and report on resource requirements and work with Project Managers to ensure timely procurement.
- Maintain equipment and report any issues to the maintenance department.
- Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and subcontractors.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to Project Managers and superiors.
- Maintain accurate daily records and documentation of site activities.
- Problem-Solving:
- Identify and resolve on-site issues promptly, including design changes, project delays, and unexpected site conditions.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop solutions that keep the project on track.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that work meets quality and performance standards as per project requirements.
- Inspect work at various stages and coordinate necessary corrections.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or technical training is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Foreman in commercial/institutional construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and construction plans.
- Familiarity with construction software and project management tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) is advantageous.
- Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- Valid driver's license.
