A multidisciplinary Consultancy that is one of Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultants with centres of excellence in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment, and Energy and Planning. Provides planning, environmental studies, preliminary planning design to our clients in the renewable energy sector and provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, greenways, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.
  
This position offers exposure to a broad range of areas within the environmental sectors, including but not limited to, constraints and feasibility assessment, planning and EIAR, infrastructure design and development.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct spatial data analysis and modeling to support environmental and ecological projects.
  • Develop and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Create high-quality maps and visualizations to effectively communicate spatial information.
  • Collaborate with ecologists, environmental scientists, and project managers to integrate GIS solutions into project workflows.
  • Perform geospatial data collection, processing, and analysis using various GIS software and tools.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of GIS-based methodologies for environmental impact assessments, habitat mapping, and conservation planning.
  • Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies and trends, and implement new tools and techniques to improve project outcomes.
  
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Ecology, GIS, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, preferably within an ecological environment.
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and other relevant tools.
  • Familiarity with ecological and environmental datasets, and experience in integrating these into GIS projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in ecological or environmental consulting firms.
  • Knowledge of ecological principles and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for GIS analysis and automation.
