HR Manager for a one-year maternity leave contract, with the possibility of a permanent role. This position is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of HR functions and drive key initiatives within a dynamic organization.
About the Role:As the HR Manager, you will oversee the full spectrum of HR and corporate services for both professional staff (28 employees as of November 2024) and a seasonal craft workforce (~80 employees under collective agreements. This role is pivotal in developing HR policies, managing recruitment, and ensuring smooth operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities: HR Leadership: - Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to align with organizational goals.
- Lead performance management, including KPI programs, and manage HR software systems.
- Manage internal employee communications and oversee company-wide staff meetings.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to health, safety, and compliance.
Recruitment & Talent Management: - Write and post job opportunities to attract top talent.
- Screen candidates, draft offer letters, and manage employment agreements.
- Lead onboarding and orientation processes for new hires.
- Oversee employee benefits and provide guidance on talent retention strategies.
Corporate Services: - Provide leadership to administrative staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Coordinate with craft workforce teams, ensuring adherence to collective agreements.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational development.
Qualifications: - Proven experience in HR management, ideally in a unionized environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, recruitment, and employee engagement.
- Familiarity with collective agreements and workforce planning.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse workforce in a fast-paced environment.
