My client, a well established civil engineering contractor are currently looking to recruit a HSEQ Manager. They have a strong reputation in the industry, delivering high-profile projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental management. The company specialise in remediation/earthworks, demolition & asbestos mitigation and development infrastructure.
About the Role:
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across multiple projects. You will work closely with site teams, senior management, and clients to drive a strong safety culture while implementing and maintaining best practices across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE regulations, CDM 2015, and company policies.
- Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS): Develop, review, and approve RAMS to ensure safe site operations.
- Site Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and incidents, providing recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Training & Inductions: Deliver H&S inductions and ongoing toolbox talks to site staff and subcontractors.
- Environmental & Asbestos Safety: Ensure best practices for remediation, asbestos mitigation, and environmental compliance are upheld.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to maintain a proactive approach to health and safety.
- Policy & Procedure Development: Continuously update and improve health, safety, and environmental procedures to align with industry best practices
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience: - NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (minimum NEBOSH Construction Certificate).
- IOSH or IEMA Membership (desirable).
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager position within civil engineering, earthworks, remediation, or demolition.
Other Requirements:
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations.
- Experience with asbestos mitigation, demolition procedures, and contaminated land safety measures.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 management systems.
