Position: Intermediate Environmental Engineer
Location: Markham
Salary: $80k - $100k

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with team members to manage project timelines and schedules.
  • Provide leadership on environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and contribute to environmental compliance initiatives and ongoing improvement projects.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement environmental policies, training programs, and management systems.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with regulatory agencies, clients, and key stakeholders in development and finance sectors.
  • Actively participate in monthly management meetings.
  • Oversee and execute Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) following CSA and Record of Site Condition standards.
  • Conduct inspections, sampling, and site remediation during Phase II ESA.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, proposals, work plans, and budgets.
  • Offer project guidance and monitor the progress of direct reports.
  • Perform peer reviews and technical evaluations of reports from direct reports.
Education:
  • A Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a professional engineer through PEO, PGO, or equivalent body.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Up to five years of experience in environmental engineering, ideally within a consulting environment.
  • Proven experience leading environmental projects and initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Proactive in identifying and acting on opportunities to enhance environmental performance.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to make informed decisions even with incomplete information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in both technical and non-technical language.
  • Strong sense of discretion and respect for confidentiality in environmental matters.
  • Ability to work with a high level of activity and urgency.
  • Proven ability to complete tasks professionally, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
