Intermediate Project Manager to oversee infrastructure projects from initial bidding through to completion. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership and project management skills, looking to make a significant impact within a dynamic and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities: Tendering & Pre-Construction - Prepare and participate in pre-tender meetings.
- Analyze tender documents, ensuring all requirements and potential challenges are identified.
- Conduct site inspections to assess conditions and document critical details for bid preparation.
- Develop detailed project cost estimations, including material, labor, and subcontractor pricing.
- Coordinate the tender submission process, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Conduct post-tender evaluations to refine future bidding strategies.
Project Execution & Operations - Establish cost codes and budgets in project management software before site mobilization.
- Monitor daily site operations, reviewing timecards, labor costs, and productivity to ensure alignment with project estimates.
- Maintain regular communication with site supervisors, identifying any potential scope changes or efficiency improvements.
- Conduct site visits multiple times per week to assess progress and identify additional work opportunities.
- Collaborate with consultants and project teams to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Lead project coordination meetings, addressing challenges and aligning stakeholders.
Billing & Financial Oversight - Manage project billing cycles, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing for progress payments and additional work claims.
- Track change orders and ensure approvals are documented.
- Work closely with accounting teams to monitor job costs and maintain positive project cash flow.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable to support financial stability.
Procurement & Subcontractor Management - Source and procure necessary materials, ensuring timely delivery to maintain construction schedules.
- Verify subcontractor qualifications and ensure all required documentation is in place.
- Coordinate supplier and subcontractor payments in alignment with project budgets.
Project Analysis & Continuous Improvement - Monitor ongoing project costs, recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Conduct post-project reviews with key team members to document lessons learned and refine future project approaches.
- Utilize project management software to track progress and update critical path milestones.
Stakeholder & Industry Engagement - Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and industry professionals.
- Represent the company at industry-related events and networking opportunities.
- Ensure professional and collaborative interactions with all project stakeholders.
Meeting Participation - Attend and contribute to project planning, scheduling, and coordination meetings.
- Engage in pre-construction, operational, and client scheduling discussions to support seamless project execution.
Ideal Candidate Profile: - Minimum of 5+ years of experience in civil infrastructure and construction project management.
- Strong knowledge of tendering, cost estimation, procurement, and contract administration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate teams, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to navigate project challenges effectively.
- Proficiency in construction management software and reporting tools.
- Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred.
