Junior Civil Engineer with 3–4 years of experience to join our client’s team in downtown Toronto, contributing to the Ontario Line project. This role involves working on roadway infrastructure projects, including road design, drainage, grading, and construction support, with a strong focus on temporary works.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with senior engineers and project teams, gaining hands-on experience in civil engineering design, analysis, and project coordination.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist in designing and analyzing roadway geometry, grading, pavement structures, and drainage systems for infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings, reports, and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D or Openroads Designer.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and cost estimates to support project planning and budgeting.
- Support the development of traffic control plans and construction staging plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural and geotechnical to integrate roadway design with other project components.
- Assist in field inspections, site assessments, and construction monitoring to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Perform technical analysis following municipal, provincial, and federal roadway design standards (e.g., MTO, TAC, OPSS).
Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Experience: 3–4 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in roadway infrastructure projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Openroads designer for roadway design.
- Familiarity with stormwater management design tools (e.g., SWMM, HEC-RAS) is an asset.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of MTO, TAC, OPSS, and municipal design standards.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports and coordinate with collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Licensure: working toward P.Eng. certification in Ontario is preferred.
- Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.
