Our client, a leading civil construction company based in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join their team. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills in cost estimation, bidding, and project planning within the civil construction industry.
  
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment for civil construction projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to support accurate cost assessments.
• Perform quantity takeoffs to determine material and labor requirements.
• Support senior estimators in bid preparation, cost analysis, and project budgeting.
• Research material costs, subcontractor pricing, and industry trends to ensure competitive estimates.
• Assist with risk assessment and identifying potential project challenges.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather necessary project details.
• Maintain and update cost databases and estimation records.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in construction estimation (internship or co-op experience is an asset).
• Familiarity with estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
