Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer Location: Langford, BC Salary: $160K+
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the electrical engineering team. Accountable to the Director of Engineering and Design.
Technical and functional lead for a team performing electrical engineering work.
Remain current with electrical engineering practices and trends
Foster growth amongst team
In collaboration with the Director of Engineering and Design, execute personnel decisions for your team.
Accountable to lead the electrical engineering employees to ensure effective and successful project delivery
Responsible for coordination and execution of electrical engineering team activities and report progress
Collaborate with the Director of Engineering and Design to provide leadership and resolution on technical issues with the electrical discipline
Liaise with internal pre-construction and construction teams as required
Develop an electrical book specification template, to be used on all projects.
Review and modify existing specific standardized construction specifications, calculations spreadsheets for repetitive designs, standard typical details, standard forms for inspections and other tasks.
Provide peer review and mentorship to other electrical engineers within electrical engineering team as required as they undertake their own projects.
Work independently as the electrical EOR for multifamily developments. For your projects:
Be accountable for analysis and design of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems.
Oversee, be responsible for, and seal electrical drawings and book specifications for all projects.
Regularly attend project meetings
Provide support during construction, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, issuing SIs, PCNs, CDs as required.
Site inspections when required.
Participate in constructability reviews
Coordination of drawings between disciplines.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Education:
Recognized degree in electrical engineering required
Post-secondary degree considered an asset.
Minimum 10 years of related experience in multi-family residential or construction industry.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in good standing in the Province of BC, AB, or MB, registration in other provinces is an asset.
High rise design experience is an asset
Demonstrate that you have been the electrical EOR for several multi-story buildings in Canada.
Experience working in several jurisdictions with several electrical utilities considered an asset.
Ability to moderately travel across Canada to perform site visits.
Demonstrate knowledge in the design of multi-family /multi-story projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and PDF editing software.
Proficiency in electrical design drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit) considered an asset.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
