About the role: As a Planner you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of piling projects by developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in planning and coordinating activities to ensure successful project execution.
Key responsibilities: Project Planning: - Develop detailed project schedules, identifying key milestones, critical path activities, and resource requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and the site team to gather necessary information for accurate planning.
- Ensure that the project timeline reflects the full scope of work and identifies potential risks and constraints.
Monitoring and Reporting: - Monitor project progress against the schedule, identifying any deviations or delays and providing timely solutions.
- Track resource usage, including manpower and equipment, to ensure optimal allocation and efficiency.
- Provide regular progress reports to the senior management team, including updates on schedule status, issues, and mitigation plans.
Risk Management: - Identify potential risks that could affect the project schedule and proactively recommend mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure that risks are addressed and contingency plans are in place.
Communication and Coordination: - Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, procurement, and safety departments, to ensure project schedules are aligned with available resources and site requirements.
- Attend project meetings and provide valuable input regarding schedule-related matters.
Schedule Optimization: - Continuously look for opportunities to improve the efficiency of project schedules.
- Propose schedule adjustments or changes based on resource availability, project constraints, or external factors.
Document Management: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project schedules, progress reports, and other planning-related documents.
- Ensure that all stakeholders are provided with the most current schedule information.
About the requirements: Experience: - Proven experience as a Planner in the construction industry, preferably within the piling or civil engineering sector.
- Experience in developing, managing, and updating project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools).
Knowledge: - Solid understanding of construction processes, including piling techniques, sequencing, and resource management.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements in the construction sector.
Skills: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify scheduling issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Qualifications: - A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- A formal qualification in project planning or scheduling is a plus (e.g., APM, PMI, or similar certification).
