The Project Coordinator, reporting to the group Vice President or their designee, holds a pivotal role with a focus on supporting project teams during the bidding and execution phases.
With a background in engineering or construction-related education and experience, the Project Coordinator collaborates with Project Managers, assuming responsibility for various tasks throughout these project stages.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adherence to Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality program, including following the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Preparation of work method statements, safe work plans, and hazard assessments for safe project execution.
- Participation in daily Safety Communication meetings and oversight of site inspections in line with IMS requirements.
- Understanding client requirements, contractual terms, and technical specifications, assisting in estimating necessary resources.
- Duties supporting Project Managers in project commencement preparation.
- Submission of clear and accurate material and equipment requisitions.
- Ensuring permits and permissions are obtained before project commencement.
- Assistance in project-related client invoicing with required documentation.
- Ongoing support to Project Managers and Superintendents in various assigned tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Eligible for AScT or P.Eng. certification upon achieving required experience levels.
Skills, Knowledge, and Required Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications.
- Conducting on-site surveys.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
- Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, and commitment to learning.
- Attention to detail, ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must have personal transportation for travel to various work sites across BC and Canada, as project demands dictate.
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility for extensive travel across the Province of BC and Canada as required by projects.
