Title: Project Manager
Location: Calgary, AB
Salary: $125K - $135K
 
Our client is a Calgary based civil and utilities construction company that was started as a small privately owned service provider. They have retained management of the company since its inception with a goal of creating a client focused organization that conducts its operations in a safe and efficient manner. This has allowed the company to grow its organization to a team of 50 core employees, and during certain construction seasons, expand that workforce to in excess of 120 personnel. Our clients service offerings include the installation of natural gas, water and telecommunication distribution systems, oil and gas pipeline construction, civil construction, and hydrovac and directional drilling services. They manage a fleet of over 100 pieces of equipment to facilitate client needs.
 
The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful management of assigned projects related to cost, schedule and quality. This role will strive to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients. This position will work closely with the President, superintendents, foreman and other key stakeholders to implement efficient and effective strategies, manage resources, and improve efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility and civil construction, project management, and team leadership.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Complete estimates on projects that may be assigned to the Project Manager or others
  • Project management, resources allocation, and budgeting
  • Manage and motivate a team of superintendents, project managers and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, seeking out opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Enhance operations through technology, where practical and possible
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Leverage existing relationships to create new growth opportunities for the company
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field with preference given to P. Eng.
  • 10+ years of experience in utilities and civil construction, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong project management skills and a proven track record of successful project completion
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and manage relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of professionals to achieve common goals
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices

  • CSTS or PCST tickets
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Some out-of-town work may be required.
  • Any other safety tickets i.e. 1staid, endorsed by the ABCGA Global Ground disturbance tickets.
