Project Manager - Bridge Construction/Rehabilitation

Our client, a leading civil general contractor turning over $500m+ per year is looking to add a bridge project manager to their team in the Toronto region. Current projects include the GTA and North of Toronto. A background in civil structures is essential for the position.

Salary = $130,000 - $170,000 

Job Overview:

As a Project Manager for our client, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful execution of bridge construction and rehabilitation projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and client communication. 
  
Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage bridge construction and rehabilitation projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the project team and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure work is being performed safely, efficiently, and by specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other project-related correspondence.
- Facilitate project meetings, including kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and closeout meetings, to ensure clear communication and alignment among all stakeholders.
- Prepare and present project reports, including progress reports, financial reports, and risk assessments, to senior management and clients as required.
  
Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structures construction project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Projects completed with Parks Canada and other organizations would be a strong asset
- Strong technical knowledge of bridge design, construction methods, materials, and specifications.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and permitting processes.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, contract administration, and claims management.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
