Reporting to the Vice President in Toronto,Canada, the Project Manager will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of designated Power Distribution, Transmission & Telecom Services for projects across Ontario.
Key Responsibilities - Oversee all aspects of the project from initiation to completion.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand project outcomes.
- Oversee quality, material & subcontractor management processes for assigned projects.
- Responsible for the financial performance of designated projects.
- Reports issues to Operations Manager regarding financial performance, workload status, potential legal issues, and potential opportunities.
- Resolves project-level legal disputes and escalates issues to Operations Manager.
- Ability to build and develop a project management team alongside the superintendent with clearly defined responsibilities, covering all aspects of the operation.
- Prepares employee development and succession plans for key positions in the department.
- Ensures that all activity on the designated project is consistent with corporate and divisional strategic plans, business plans, policies, and procedures.
- Understanding change order management & contract management
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
Required Knowledge and Experience.
- Bachelors in civil or electrical engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Project Manager role.
- Experience in the Utility/Hydro Contracting Industry.
- Experience working along rail corridors would be an asset
- Ability to handle multiple projects independently
- Solid understanding of estimating, project forecasting, and change management principles and processes.
- Experience in planning, scheduling, and team building.
- Proven leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to resolve project disputes with minimal assistance.
- Availability to collaboratively work within both an office and site environment.
- Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project required
- Valid Canadian visa required - no sponsorship available
