They are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler with a background in earthworks to join their dynamic team and contribute to their ongoing success.

Position Overview:

The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules to ensure the timely completion of earthworks projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to coordinate activities and resources, identify potential scheduling conflicts, and implement corrective actions. This role is essential for maintaining project timelines and ensuring efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for earthworks projects using scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field staff to gather information and update schedules regularly.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to determine project scope and scheduling requirements.
  • Identify critical path activities and project milestones, and ensure they are tracked and met.
  • Monitor project progress and performance and provide regular status updates and reports to project stakeholders.
  • Identify potential scheduling conflicts, delays, and risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate impacts.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Prepare and present schedule updates and progress reports to senior management and clients.
  • Participate in project meetings and review sessions to provide scheduling insights and support decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling documentation and records.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project scheduling, with a focus on earthworks and heavy civil construction.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of earthworks construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure and earthworks projects.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
