SSA Group are looking to speak with a project survey manager that is based in Newcastle or willing to relocate. Our client has recently started a new project in the Newcastle and Hunter regions and requires an experienced survey manager to join their team to oversee the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Survey Management & Execution:
Oversee all surveying activities related to the infrastructure project, ensuring precise data collection and mapping.
Develop and implement survey plans, methodologies, and workflows to support construction, design, and quality assurance.
Conduct land and topographic surveys using advanced surveying tools and technology (GPS, total stations, LiDAR, drones, etc.).
Project Coordination & Compliance:
Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and construction teams to provide accurate survey data and resolve technical issues.
Ensure all survey work complies with project specifications, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
Manage survey documentation, including reports, maps, and digital records, ensuring data integrity
Technology & Data Management:
Implement the latest surveying technologies and software to optimise efficiency and accuracy.
Analyse survey data to support decision-making for project planning and execution.
Collaborate with GIS and BIM teams to integrate survey data into digital project models
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have:
Diploma or degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field.
10+ years of construction surveying experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in 12d Model & 12d Field (essential).
Expertise in maintaining control networks and least squares adjustments (CompNet highly regarded).
Australian residency and the right to work in Australia.
Current Australian driver’s licence (mandatory).
Experience with terrestrial scanning and Remote Pilot’s Licence (RePL) (highly regarded).
