Job Overview They are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in carpentry and joinery to join our team. This role will focus on managing costs, contracts, and budgets for a variety of bespoke and large-scale projects, ensuring high-quality delivery while maintaining profitability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management:
    • Develop and manage project budgets for carpentry and joinery works.
    • Conduct accurate valuations, monitor expenditures, and produce detailed cost reports.
  • Tendering & Procurement:
    • Prepare tender documents and evaluate subcontractor bids specific to carpentry and joinery.
    • Negotiate contracts and procure materials to meet project requirements and budgets.
  • Contract Administration:
    • Handle all contractual matters, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
    • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Value Engineering:
    • Propose cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality or design intent.
    • Provide expert advice on materials and construction methods for carpentry and joinery works.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
    • Liaise with clients and stakeholders, providing updates and resolving queries.
Requirements
  • A degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum [X] years) as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong focus on carpentry and joinery works.
  • In-depth knowledge of carpentry and joinery materials, techniques, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
