About the Client: SSA is recruiting on behalf of a Construction company specialising in Carpentry & Joinery, working on behalf of major Contractors.  The company have an extensive workload across London and the Home Counties and currently running 10-20 projects.
  
The company is involved in Residential, Commercial, Educational, Hotel Developments and is now looking at recruiting the following member of staff to the head office.
  
Due to company expansion, they are now seeking to recruit a Graduate/Assistant Quantity Surveyor, ideally who has had previous exposure to carpentry and joinery packages either with a subcontractor in a similar role or with a main contractor where you have gained exposure to carpentry & joinery packages.
  
Working under & reporting to the Surveying Director you will gain exceptional experience & guidance, with genuine opportunity for progression with a company renowned for looking after it’s staff.
  
The role:
  • Running Projects from start to finish, responsible for agreeing final account figures with the client.
  • Agreeing labour rates with site operatives and ensure these rates are maintained throughout the job.
  • Pricing and submission of Variations.
  • Substantiating and submitting monthly valuations to the client.
  • Prepare and submit forecasts including material and labour schedules to ensure a budget for the job is in place and followed.
  • Liasing with site/ contracts managers, to ensure operatives agree rates before they commence any variation works.
  • Organise and attend monthly account meetings with the client to ensure, the account gap is minimal.
  
About the Requirements:
  • Based in the office, with site visits every week/fortnight.
  • Ideally degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (preferred by not essential)
  • 1-3 years + experience (Graduates considered)
  • The ideal person will have experience in the Carpentry & Joinery Contracting sector This could be either with a Main Contractor or ideally with a Subcontractor within the Carpentry, Joinery or interiors sector.
  • Have the ability to manage a number of packages ranging from £100k – £5m on projects within the M25.
  
A competitive salary will be on offer, which will be dependent on experience and candidate.
