Job Summary:
My client is seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to oversee civil construction activities on a remote project in British Columbia. This role is rotational and requires the ability to manage all site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met. (Highway project)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all on-site civil construction activities
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Supervise and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain workflow and productivity.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project scope, codes, and regulations.
- Prepare daily reports on progress, challenges, and resource requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve site challenges.
- Monitor and manage equipment, materials, and workforce to meet project demands.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and the local community.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Civil Superintendent in heavy civil construction, preferably in remote or rotational settings.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, standards, and safety protocols.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Familiarity with BC construction codes, regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Experience in remote or rotational work environments is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must reside in British Columbia and be eligible to work in Canada.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel to remote sites as required.
