My Client are a highly innovative M&E Engineering Consultancy who are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to undertake design work and technical project co-ordination in their Dublin office.
The successful Senior Electrical Engineer will lead a busy team providing design and technical services on industry leading Data Centre & Pharmaceutical developments.
Job Description - Work as part of a multidiscipline team on both large and small industrial projects in the pharma, datacentre and food and beverage industries
- Represent my client at senior level in client discussions, tender negotiations and workshops.
- Manage a team of 3 or 4 engineers and ensure deliverables are achieved on time and to the required quality
- Ensure that department / individual training needs are met.
- Act as either electrical lead or project lead on projects coordinating all elements of design and interaction with clients and other design team members
- Development of specifications, scope of works documents, tender packs, cable calcs, wiring diagrams, schematics, loop sheets and other electrical deliverables
- MV & LV electrical design, including MCCs, distribution boards, cable systems, lighting & emergency lighting etc.
- Participate in constructability and safety reviews.
- Design of Life Safety Systems including Fire Alarm and security
- Design electrical services packages in AutoCAD & Revit where applicable
- Carry out tender bid analysis process
- Undertake peer reviews as part of our quality control process
- Attend and participate in client and APM team meetings
- Participate in project site visits to survey, monitor, review and sign-off upon electrical installations when required.
Personal Abilities & Qualifications - Third Level Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design and delivery
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM/Revit
- Familiarity with SKM (PTW) electrical design software.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Proven experience in electrical engineering design services. Experience required in MV and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting & emergency lighting, vertical transportation, small power, voice / data, cable containment, fire alarm, security, lightning protection, earthing & bonding, hazardous areas and specialist control systems
- Knowledge and experience of applicable electrical engineering codes and standards.
- Experience of developing electrical protection systems, electrical discrimination, short circuit studies and arc-flash analysis reports.
- The ability to find alternate solutions including value-engineering and to implement new technologies where required.
