Company: 

Our client is looking for a meticulous Geotechnical Engineer to join their Geotechnical Department at their head office in Markham. If you're passionate about delivering high-quality engineering solutions and have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, we want to hear from you.

Position Overview:

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, responsible for preparing and reviewing geotechnical engineering reports for a variety of projects, including roads, subdivisions, medium to high-rise buildings, bridges, retaining walls, slope stability, and municipal infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage geotechnical projects from start to finish.
  • Conduct and oversee on-site investigations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare technical proposals and comprehensive engineering reports.
  • Participate in site visits and office meetings to provide technical expertise.
  • Analyze soil samples, conduct soil and rock testing, and prepare borehole logs.
  • Provide technical services within a laboratory environment.
  • Utilize geotechnical design software, including Finite Element Analysis and slope stability analysis.
  • Collaborate with municipalities and regulatory authorities such as MNR and TRCA.
  • Perform a wide range of soil mechanics analyses and foundation engineering design.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including marketing, educational sessions, and promoting the company’s services.
  • Ensure high-quality design packages, reporting, and analysis are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
  • P.Eng certification in Ontario.
  • Advanced or specialized university courses in geotechnical engineering and foundation engineering (Master’s degree is an asset).
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Proven experience in site investigations, foundation design (deep and shallow), slope stability, and on-site construction review.
