- Collaborate directly with the Senior Management team in Toronto, working independently with minimal supervision.
- Oversee design projects from inception to completion, leveraging advanced technical expertise in engineering and consulting.
- Ensure compliance with National, Provincial, and Municipal Codes and Standards, including NFPA, OBC, and CSA, and verify that design documents adhere to project criteria and applicable standards.
- Conduct design and hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems, including sprinklers, standpipes, pre-action systems, and clean agent suppression.
- Engage in client management, business development, and proposal preparation.
- Create engineering designs, including calculations, specifications, and drawings, for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and fuel systems.
- Manage aspects of project financial reviews, maintain budgets, and ensure project milestones are met.
- Review construction documents and handle construction engineering correspondence.
- Perform peer reviews of junior engineers' work and provide mentorship to develop a high-performing team.
Qualifications: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 7-9 years of experience in a mechanical consulting engineering environment.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P. Eng.).
- Mandatory rail experience.
- Experience with fire protection and fuel systems is required.
- LEED Accreditation and experience in sustainable design are highly desirable.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Carrier Hourly Analysis Program (HAP) or Trane TRACE software, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential.
- Proficiency with MEP Revit is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and solve problems within an integrated team environment.
Must reside in Canada and have all legal working documents to be considered for the role.
