About the Role
A leading organization is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to manage the financial responsibilities of a portfolio of development projects and properties

The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple departments, including development, construction, property management, accounting, and finance.

What you will do:
  • Provide support and oversight on the budget, forecast, financial reporting, and analysis of a portfolio of projects and properties.
  • Coordinate with multiple managers across the organization to monitor project costs, assist in resolving variances, and verify assumptions are sound.
  • Support project managers through the full project lifecycle from initial setup, monitoring, updating, and closing.
  • Ensure projects, budgets, and commitments are accurately set up in accordance with agreements and project cost codes.
  • Monitor lender and equity-funded portions of projects and maintain up-to-date cash flow projections from pre-development to completion.
  • Prepare and submit construction loan draws and liaise with project quantity surveyors and lenders.
  • Monitor, review, forecast, and reconcile project budgets, holdback accounts, construction loan draw requests, and invoices.
  • Monitor cash and prepare funding requests to ensure sufficient funds to satisfy project obligations.
  • Generate internal and external reporting packages for management, development partners, and financial institutions.
  • Prepare financial and performance reporting packages tailored to the business needs of key stakeholders and management.
About You
  • Designated CPA with five or more years of accounting experience in real estate, development, and construction.
  • Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Expertise in long-term, complex, multi-phase development projects.
  • Comprehension of legal entity organizational structures.
  • Experience with cash management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to create complex financial models and present project information to various management levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of the business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Outstanding ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively with various colleagues.
