ICI CONSTRUCTION SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER — FULL JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is seeking an experienced
ICI Construction Senior Project Manager to join their growing team in the
GTA. This role is ideal for a driven construction professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can oversee complex projects from tender to close-out with confidence and precision.
Location: Office is in Vaughan, but Projects are All Across Ontario (GTA Focus)
Salary: $110,000-$130,000
Experience: Minimum 10 years with a local General Contractor or Construction Management Firm
️ Sector: ICI - Industrial, Commercial, Institutional Construction QUALIFICATIONS - Local GTA Experience (Must-Have):
Strong understanding of the GTA's construction landscape, local municipalities, permitting processes, and trade networks. - General Contractor / Construction Management Background:
Hands-on experience managing full project cycles—budgeting, scheduling, trade coordination, procurement, site logistics, and quality control. - Education:
Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. - Certifications (Asset):
- PMP
- Gold Seal (GSC)
- P.Eng or CET is an advantage but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES Project Leadership & Execution - Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules, cost forecasts, and progress reports.
Budgeting & Financial Control - Develop project budgets, analyze cost impacts, and ensure profitability.
- Review and negotiate subtrade contracts, change orders, and progress draws.
Coordination & Team Management - Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure design and construction alignment.
- Provide direction and support to site teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Quality, Safety & Compliance - Enforce compliance with company policies, the Ontario Building Code, health & safety regulations, and project-specific requirements.
- Partner with site teams to identify risks early and implement corrective actions.
Client Relationship Management - Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, managing expectations, and ensuring project satisfaction.
- Represent the company professionally during meetings, presentations, and site visits.
PREFERRED SKILLS - Leadership: Ability to motivate teams and drive projects toward successful completion.
- Communication: Clear, concise, and professional communication across all project stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of ICI construction methods, building systems, project delivery models, and contract structures (e.g., CCDC).
- Problem-Solving: Skilled at identifying issues early and executing solutions without compromising quality or safety.
- Technology: Proficiency with tools such as Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar project management platforms.
