Senior Project Manager - Industrial/Civil/Mechanical

Overview:

Our client, a leading industrial and civil contractor is looking for a Senior Project Manager for their operations in Toronto, Canada. Their projects range from $1M - $500M, and as they continue to grow their operations they are looking for the following experience requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead all phases of project management including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
  • Ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations and contracts.
  • Act as the primary liaison with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to facilitate effective communication and project coordination.
  • Maintain a strong focus on project safety, championing compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and expectations.
  • Proactively manage client expectations, keeping stakeholders informed of project developments and addressing concerns promptly.
Management Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor Project Managers, and other project staff.
  • Provide leadership in hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, ensuring clear communication and alignment with organizational goals.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) OR equivalent is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on projects of major scope (e.g., $1M - $500M in annual construction costs).
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail.
