Senior Project Manager - Wood Frame Construction

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee the management of wood frame residential and mixed-use construction projects in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing all phases of wood frame construction, a deep understanding of local building regulations, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of wood frame residential and mixed-use projects, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations and company goals.
  • Team Management: Oversee project teams, including supervisors and subcontractors, while mentoring junior staff and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Manage project budgets and financial reports, ensuring cost-effective procurement and addressing potential cost overruns.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, identify project risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main contact for clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates and building strong relationships.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high construction quality through regular inspections and prompt resolution of deficiencies.
  • Education and Certifications:
    • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
    • PMP or other project management certification is an asset.
    • Valid local trade certifications or Red Seal qualifications are advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on wood frame residential and mixed-use projects.
    • Proven experience in leading large-scale projects from inception to completion.
    • Familiarity with local building codes, permit processes, and municipal regulations in Vancouver, BC.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
    • Excellent budgeting, scheduling, and risk management skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil engineering drawings.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000
