Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will:
  • Lead the design and analysis of complex structural systems for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring designs meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, and detailed drawings.
  • Manage all aspects of project planning, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and EITs, fostering professional growth.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Conduct site inspections, assess structural performance, and address design challenges during construction.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support business development efforts.
  • Stay current with industry advancements, structural codes, and best practices to deliver innovative solutions.
About You
To excel in this role, you will need:
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.
  • 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on consulting and project delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction techniques.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
  • Experience with drafting and modeling tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and British Columbia building codes and regulations.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and mentor staff effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and client management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
