Key Responsibilities As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will:
- Lead the design and analysis of complex structural systems for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure projects.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring designs meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, and detailed drawings.
- Manage all aspects of project planning, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and EITs, fostering professional growth.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Conduct site inspections, assess structural performance, and address design challenges during construction.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support business development efforts.
- Stay current with industry advancements, structural codes, and best practices to deliver innovative solutions.
About You To excel in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.
- 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on consulting and project delivery.
- Extensive knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction techniques.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
- Experience with drafting and modeling tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla.
- Strong understanding of Canadian and British Columbia building codes and regulations.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and mentor staff effectively.
- Exceptional communication and client management skills.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
