Superintendent - Wood Frame

We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Superintendent to join our Vancouver site for a rewarding role in social-purpose housing development. As part of one of BC's respected developer/builder, you'll report to the Senior Director of Construction and oversee various project aspects.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead construction efforts, ensuring compliance with design, regulations, and safety codes.
  • Plan and monitor construction plans.
  • Assist with project estimates and budgets.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities.
  • Manage site start-up and secure necessary permits.
  • Ensure safe work practices and schedules are followed.
  • Coordinate and direct on-site workers.
  • Maintain project timelines.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Project Manager to address construction issues.
  • Handle jobsite administration duties.
  • Oversee material availability and quality control.
  • Identify cost-effective measures and ensure building inspections.
  • Address any other duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction-related field.
  • 10-15 years of Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent experience with wood frame residential/ multi family.
  • Experience in social-purpose housing and multi-family building.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and field drawings.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction trades and techniques.
  • Proficient in construction safety and productivity.
  • Knowledge of workplace compliance regulations.
  • Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Procore and Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Dedication to health and safety.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Understanding of contracts and contractor management.
  • Knowledge of OH&S regulations and residential building codes.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • High integrity and effective communication.
  • Cost control measures and valid driver's license.
  • First Aid certification (an asset).
  • Flexibility in adjusting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
