Position Overview:
  
They are seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to help lead their sustainability initiatives and drive their company towards greater adherence to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability and possess a deep understanding of sustainable practices, with a focus on integrating Environmental, Social and Governance considerations into the company operations.
  
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategy: Assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company's goals, values, and ESG commitments.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulations related to sustainability and ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
  • Environmental Management: Help oversee environmental management programs, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and pollution prevention initiatives, in line with ESG guidelines.
  • Social Impact: Drive initiatives that promote positive social impact, such as community engagement, diversity and inclusion programs, and employee welfare.
  • Governance: Ensure strong governance practices within the company, including transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct, to meet ESG governance standards.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to promote sustainable procurement practices and source environmentally friendly materials and services.
  • Employee Training and Education: Help develop and deliver training programs to educate employees about sustainability practices and foster a culture of responsibility and accountability.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the company's sustainability performance and prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainable construction and ESG integration, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including project management, engineering, and procurement, to integrate sustainability principles and ESG considerations into all aspects of the company's operations.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Assist with the development and implementation of CSR initiatives that demonstrate the company's commitment to ESG principles and contribute to positive social and environmental impact.
To be successful in your application, you will possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability management, a strong understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
  • Experience working in the construction industry, either in a sustainability role or other.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive sustainability strategies and initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to embrace sustainability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in sustainability practices.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and the ability to foster a culture of respect and collaboration among employees.
