Housing Minister Bassim bin Yacoub Al-Hamer sealed the agreements along with the constructions companies.
The project was awarded to Al-Mezeal Construction and Services, Luqman Al-Haddad Construction Company, Mohammed Saif Ajlan Al-Mannai and Al-Nisr Construction Company.
Earlier, the ministry had signed an agreement with the Saudi Development Fund to construct 1560 units as part of the first phase of the Southern Town project in package costing 152.75 million under the Gulf Development Plan.
The project is part of the Government Action Plan (GAP) to construct 25,000 units, in line with the royal order issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to provide 40,000 units.
